DESIGN PROCESS

Each project we work on requires a site-specific approach that ultimately reflects the lifestyle and unique tastes of each client. Translating your thoughts and ideas into a personalized and thoughtful design is our priority.

Our design process usually follows the general steps listed below:

STEP 1

Initial on site consultation between wallflowerdesign and client, where landscape opportunities will be identified, and ideas will be evaluated and discussed – which provides the professional ideas, guidance, and resources required to get your project moving forward in the right direction. wallflowerdesign, LLC charges per hour for design and consultation services, and final design fees are dependent upon the amount of revisions made throughout the design process.

STEP 2

You will be asked to sign a Landscape Design Contract and to submit a retainer. This retainer is collected at design contract inception.

STEP 3

Client to submit a site survey. If sending the site survey electronically, please email to: wfd@wallflowerdesign.biz. If submitting a printed copy, please return with the signed contract. (If a site survey is not available, measurements will have to be taken). If desired, client can also submit visual concepts of preferred gardens to wallflowerdesign.

STEP 4

wallflowerdesign will begin the research stage of the design process. We will take on-site measurements, photographs, and inventory the site as necessary. We will study the topography, water movement, and ecology of the property. We will investigate site conditions, potential plant palettes, and proper aesthetics for the intent of the design. A soil test will be taken to determine that appropriate plant inventory is chosen for the project.

STEP 5

After a thorough investigation is performed, a design concept is developed that is a schematic representation of the future plan. A meeting will be held which serves as an opportunity to review and approve the design ideas before proceeding to final design.

STEP 6

Continued design development as determined by conceptual review.

STEP 7

Final designs presented to client. Design will be to scale and will include pictures of all proposed materials and plants, and a lighting plan as desired.

STEP 8

Invoice for remainder of fees. Payment is expected upon completion of all work.
